As the seasons progress, the leaves mature to a lovely dark purplish-green with flushes of rosy-red foliage throughout the summer. By the time fall comes around, the leaves transform into a lovely combination of yellow, purple, and orange – truly a feast for the eyes!
Differing from other Maples, Summer Red® grows very well in the warm, humid regions of USDA Zones 8 and 9. And, growing 35 to 40 feet tall and 20 to 25 feet wide, it offers plenty of shade from its abundant lateral branching and dense, colorful foliage.
